We'd like to congratulate the Sunshine Coast Council for achieving the award for Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing at the Local Govement Management Association (LGMA) Awards Night. Their FRESHminds Program is an initiative which aims to provide a mentally healthy workplace that promotes awareness and understanding of mental illness, encourages early help-seeking behaviours and reduces stigma.
The award for Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing was established to recognise those workplaces who promote workplace health and wellbeing programs that have real potential to positively influence the health of Council’s workforce whilst making good business sense. We chose to sponsor this category, because it aligns with our values of health and wellness in workplaces and our local community. We also wanted to support the efforts in recognising those Councils who are going above and beyond to promote a healthy workforce for their employees.

The FRESHminds program includes mental health-related training, nutrition workshops, 10,000 steps Challenge, FRESHminds’ video and promises, workplace posters and banner pens. The program not only aims to change the attitudes and help-seeking behaviours in employees, but also within the wider community.
We congratulate them again on their acheivement and all nominees within this incredible category.
