Dr Shianne Carmichael
Dr. Shianne Carmichael was born in Taiwan. Her family moved to Canada when she was young. Later, she came to Australia to pursue her passion and education in dentistry. She received her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland. Shianne is a registered and certified general dentist in Australia and in Canada.
Shianne moved to Townsville to work for Queensland Health in 2012. She has since fallen in love with local culture and people. In the last two years, Shianne treated patients of all ages across the greater Townsville district. She is known for her good communication skills and gentle manner when she operates for her patients. She has particular interests in preventive dentistry, oral surgery, and dental prosthetics.
Outside of work, Shianne loves DIY projects, trying new cuisines, and enjoys games night with her family and friends.
Shianne is currently on maternity leave.
Dr Mikaela Chinotti
Dr Mikaela Chinotti was born and bred in Ingham. She graduated from James Cook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She returned to Ingham to work in private practice before moving to Townsville in 2015 to begin work at Queensland Country Dental. Outside of work Mikaela can be found spending time with family and friends, exercising and playing squash. She enjoys travelling around Australia and overseas but most of all likes to holiday at the Atherton Tablelands where she goes water skiing with family.
Oral Health Therapist
Cathy graduated from the Sylvania School Of Dental Therapy in NSW in 1980 and pursued a long and enjoyable career as a Dental Therapist in southern NSW until the family relocated to Townsville in 2004. In 2006 she completed further study through the University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology and adding Dental Hygiene to her credentials.
Cathy has practiced Dental Therapy and Hygiene in both the private and public sector since then and joins the Queensland Country Dental team as our Dental Therapist. Her years of experience, expertise, gentleness (and obvious enjoyment) in providing dental care for children and young people will be a valuable asset to our dental team.
Aside from her passion for preventive dentistry, Cathy enjoys any hands on activity from craft to home renovations, learning new skills but most importantly, the company of her family and friends.
Kylie has a bachelor’s degree in Oral Health from Newcastle University. Her main focus in dentistry is preventive care which she has a great passion for. Kylie is from Sydney and moved to Northern Queensland a couple of years ago and does not miss the cold weather down south. She has worked previously in both private and government dental practices.
Kylies interests outside of work include rock climbing at Mt Stuart and aerial silks.
