When does a co-payment apply?
A co-payment is a daily amount which a Member agrees to pay towards their accommodation costs for in-hospital psychiatric admissions only. Queensland Country applies a co-payment in respect to benefits paid for in-hospital psychiatric treatment under our Comprehensive Hospital cover. It applies when admitted as a private patient to either a private or public hospital, including psychiatric day programs. It is separate to any excess applicable. Please refer to page 16 of the Hospital Cover brochure for information about 'Excess'.

How much is the co-payment?
The co-payment amount is $80 per day, this is capped at $1000 per hospital admission. It applies for each and every admission to hospital for this type of treatment. If there are multiple hospital admissions for in-hospital psychiatric treatment within a Membership Year a co-payment will apply to all of these admissions.
A co-payment only applies to in-hospital psychiatric treatment admissions. No other hospital treatment types attract a co-payment.
