As the only Health Fund based in regional Queensland, we understand that many of our policyholders are located outside the major cities in Queensland, and that medical services aren’t always available in smaller communities. This means you may have to travel to Townsville or Brisbane for medical treatment or to go to hospital.
Often you'll be treated as an outpatient, so you may need to find accommodation close to the hospital where you're being treated.
With this in mind, Queensland Country provides apartments in both Townsville and Brisbane, available for policyholders at concessional rates, after you've served two months' membership with the Fund.
These 2-bedroom, self-contained and fully furnished apartments offer comfortable, peaceful accommodation for our Members needing medical treatment.

You can make a reservation online for either or Townsville or Brisbane apartments.
Your reservation must be secured at the time of booking by payment in full by credit card and will need to be confirmed by a doctor's letter or documentation supporting your hospital visit/medical appointment at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date by emailing it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bookings will be treated as reservations until documentation is received from your health professional. A staff member will phone to confirm your booking.

The Queensland Government offers a Patient Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) that provides direct assistance to patients, and in some cases their carers, to enable them to access specialist medical services from which they are isolated. A subsidy is provided to approved patients and carers to assist in the cost of travel and accommodation to the nearest specialist medical service that is more than 50km from the patient's nearest public hospital.
