Out-of-Pocket-Expenses

Discovering you’ll be out of pocket after the fact is a tough pill to swallow, especially after being discharged from hospital.

Knowing how much your medical treatment will cost is called Informed Financial Consent. The government acknowledges your right to know if there will be any out-of-pocket expenses following your hospital stay and they have introduced a checklist with questions you should ask before going into hospital.

We recommend contacting us before going into hospital so we can discuss this checklist with you. It’s also important that we talk to you about what your policy provides cover for and if you will incur any out-of-pocket expenses. By doing this before going into hospital you’ll have the total picture and avoid any unwanted surprises later.
