We know the costs involved with traveling to receive medical treatment can accumulate quickly and that’s why we have a subsidised accommodation facility for our regional and rural policyholders who travel to Brisbane for essential medical reasons.
‘McIlwraith on the Park’ has helped meet this vital need by funding a complex of 2 bedroom, fully self-contained and furnished apartments at 12 McIlwraith Street, Auchenflower – just a stones throw away from the Wesley Hospital.
The apartments offer comfortable, peaceful accommodation, in pleasant leafy surrounds exclusively for our Members needing medical attention. Each apartment can accommodate a maximum of 6 guests.
The Facilities
The apartments are tastefully decorated with everything needed to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
They include linen, cooking utensils, microwave oven, dining needs, refrigerator, queen size bed, colour TV, DVD player, laundry facilities, aircon, etc.
Residents are asked to supply their own food, prepare their meals, and to clean the apartment during their stay. The complex has an outdoor entertaining area complete with barbeque for family and friends who may visit.
Most apartments have a lock up garage and visitor parking is available. The complex is situated next to McIlwraith Park, which is great for those members with children. Wheelchair access is available to lower lever apartments.
Transport
Brisbane City Council bus services, taxi ranks and the Auchenflower railway station are all within an easy walk.

Patients qualifying for the State Governments Patient Transit Scheme (PTS), or similar scheme, can assign their benefit to Queensland Country Health Fund Ltd.
