Often our Members need to travel to Townsville or Brisbane for medical or hospital treatment.  Many will be treated as outpatients, which means they will need to locate accommodation close to the hospital where they are to receive treatment.

Queensland Country Health Fund has helped meet this vital need by funding a complex of 2-bedroom, full self-contained and furnished apartments in Pimlico (Townsville) and Auchenflower (Brisbane) - just a stones throw away from the Mater Hospital (Townsville) and the Wesley Hospital (Brisbane).  

These apartments offer comfortable, peaceful accommodation in pleasant surrounds exclusively for our Members needing medical attention.

Accomodation Costs:        
1 night        $90 Per Night
2 nights       $80 Per Night
3 nights       $70 Per Night
4 nights     $60 Per Night

Townsville:
Roy Harris Place has 4 fully self-contained, 2-bedroom apartments at 30 Cheyne Street, Pimlico. The apartments include linen, cooking utensils, microwave, dining needs, refrigerator, queen size bed, colour TV, DVD player, laundry facilities and air conditioning.
Each unit can accomodate a maximum of 4 guests.
             
Brisbane:
McIlwraith on the Park has 6 fully self-contained, 2-bedroom apartments at 12 McIlwraith Street, Auchenflower. The apartments include linen, cooking utensils, microwave, dining needs, refrigerator, queen size bed, colour TV, DVD player, laundry facilities and air conditioning.
Each unit can accomodate a maximum of 6 guests.
             
Government Subsidy:

The Queensland Government offers a Patient Subsidy Scheme (PTSS) that provides direct assistance to patients, and in some cases their carers, to enable them to access specialist medical services from which they are isolated. A subsidy is provided to approved patients and carers to assist in the cost of travel and accommodation to the nearest specialist medical service that is more than 50km from the patient's nearest public hospital.
